Fabienne Maugueret - Student Doula

Queensland

Hi, I’m Fabienne, but you can call me Fab.

I’m a mum of two and an emerging doula who is completing training at the Doula Training Academy. I service the north of Brisbane area. My journey into motherhood has shaped everything I do today. My first birth experience included preterm birth followed by a long NICU stay, which led to a challenging and transformative Postpartum.  For my second, I prepared intentionally, seeking knowledge and clarity to feel ready and calm. These experiences, paired with my counselling qualifications, inspired me to become a doula and provide thoughtful care to other mothers and their families.

My Why

Motherhood is one of the most life-changing experiences, but it’s also full of questions, emotions, and unexpected turns. It’s a time where we need a village. I Believe mothers deserve to feel informed, understood, and nurtured as they navigate pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. This year, my focus is on postpartum care—ensuring mothers and their families feel reassured and equipped during those early days and beyond.

What I Do

During pregnancy, I provide childbirth education, helping women explore their options and make informed decisions that reflect their values. I also work with their partners, guiding them on how to best support the mother during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. My services include acupressure techniques, which can be helpful for easing discomfort and promoting relaxation in labour.

I am present throughout labour, offering calm, continuous support and holding space for whatever unfolds. Together, we create flexible birth and postpartum plans that respect the unique journey of each mother, helping her feel prepared and grounded.

Postpartum, my care continues with birth debriefing sessions, practical help, and nourishing meals. I offer assistance with breastfeeding, emotional care, and light household duties, allowing new mothers the time they need to rest and recover. I also ensure partners feel included and confident in their roles during this crucial period.

How I Do It Differently

With qualifications in counselling and a trauma-informed approach, I bring a unique understanding to my work. My experiences with a NICU stay, triple feeding and a deeply intentional second birth allow me to meet you where you are, providing thoughtful and individualised care. I take pride in creating a space where you can feel confident, cared for, and grounded.

My Mission

My mission is to ensure every mother feels seen, heard, and equipped to navigate this transformative time. I believe that with the right care and information, this journey can feel deeply fulfilling and aligned with your values.
