Nur Heitz

My name is Nur Heitz, and I am an emerging postpartum doula currently completing my training with the Doula Training Academy. I am based on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and support families in the surrounding areas.

I bring over 25 years of experience supporting families through early childhood education, therapeutic play, attachment work, and community care. That background shapes everything I do I understand how deeply the early weeks of life shape a family, and I am here to make that time feel a little softer.

I believe every mother deserves to feel held, calm, and supported as she begins life with her baby. Each birth brings not only a new baby, but a new mother and both deserve care.

My approach is gentle, practical, and rooted in one simple belief: when we nurture the nurturer, both mother and baby thrive.

Nurturing the nurturer — Ubuntu: “I am because we are.”

MY PHILOSOPHY

Slowing down when the world speeds up

The early weeks after birth are tender and transformative. In a world that expects quick recovery, I believe in slowing down.

Birth asks us to pause. Our bodies and nervous systems need time to settle. Bonding takes space. My role is to bring calm and steadiness into those early days, weeks, or months — so families can rest, recover, and grow into their new rhythm with confidence.

With a background in early childhood education and parent–child attachment, I have seen how quietly responsive care can transform a family’s experience. When a mother rests more deeply, when a baby settles more easily, when parents begin to trust their own instincts that is where real confidence grows.
