I personally experienced three different births with my three children from my first daughters’ birth being induced leading to a cascade of interventions ending with an epidural and episiotomy, a planned cesarean for my second daughter which was beautiful in its own way and my third birth being a successful and healing VBAC with my son. I also suffered from postnatal depression with my first daughter that when I reflect back, I feel it started from not having the voice or knowledge to make informed choices that I needed during my birth and not pre-planning for a strong postpartum network.
I am here just a regular mum wanting to support, love and nurture mothers as they enter motherhood whether it be the first time or the fourth time. My mission is to help women feel Seen and Heard during their birthing experience. I am here for you regardless of how you want to birth whether it is in hospital, birthing centre or at home it’s your own personal journey. I will provide you unbiased information, emotional and physical support!
When a woman gives birth, she births not only her child but also a new identity, that of a mother – and it’s magical!
I believe in honouring you the mother as you transition through your pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey. Often Western society focuses on the baby and tends to overlook the mother and her needs glorifying the expectation of her to just bounce back after birth. I am here to support and nurture you during your postpartum period and help build your postpartum network of family and friends.
It is okay to take each day as it comes and to ask for the help when needed because when a mother is respected, loved and nurtured she and her whole family will benefit.
Please connect with me if you are seeking the support of a doula and that you feel I may be the right fit for you and your family.
