Hey there!
My name is Brittney Blakeney, and I am a mother of four spirited humans and one equally cheeky fur babe, and wifey to a truly great man. When I’m not absorbed in the birth world, you’ll find me pottering in the garden, beaching with my water babies or searching Pinterest for renovation ideas for hubs to squeeze into his weekend.
My journey into motherhood was at the ripe old age of 22 – and once I had that first birth experience, I was hooked on everything that is transformative about pregnancy, birth and early postpartum. Carrying a life inside of me and bringing her earthside was like nothing I had ever been through – it was raw and powerful, yet tender and full of bliss. The experience left me excited to birth again, and I am forever grateful for the support I had from my husband and family.
I have since birthed three boys, and all four births have been completely different and pushed me in all sorts of ways. It’s amazing what women can do with the right support team.
I have wanted to be in birth work ever since my first birth in 2012 and am just now following my passion. I believe all women should have a supportive team around them from pregnancy to postpartum that builds them up and gives them the confidence to follow their instincts.
My job is to provide you with resources, tools and information you need to feel strong and fearless during pregnancy, safe and supported during birth and nourished and nurtured in your postpartum.
I am now qualified as a pregnancy, birth and postpartum doula through Vicki Hobbs at the Doula Training Academy, and am available to support births in hospitals, birth centres and homes in Perth, Western Australia.
I look forward to connecting with you and chatting about how you can own your birth, no matter where and how that happens, and feel nurtured as you transform into motherhood.
