Hi, I’m Kylie Brettell the crazy kiwi from Take My Hand Mumma.
I am a mother of two equally crazy girls, who helped shape me into who I am today, they are the ones who lead me down the birth work garden path.
I moved to Australia with my partner in 2018 and work as a massage therapist in Sunbury Victoria, mostly working with pregnant mothers. I teach the Hypnobirthing Australia positive birth course and became a doula as I wanted to do more in the birth space.
I want mothers and mothers to be, to feel supported, heard, less lonely, powerful, worth something and special. I want Mums to enter motherhood in the best condition with the power of education on their bodies, rights and with a sense of what women are capable of.
This is important to me because, when I was preparing for motherhood the first time, the advice I got set me up for failure. They all said just take all the drugs and do whatever the Dr says, to bounce back and that I can do it all. As you can expect the result was not great. The second time round I did so much research and work around birth and postpartum and had a doula, and well the outcome was polar opposite, and I knew this was something I needed to share with others.
I don’t want anyone to feel lonely or unheard during pregnancy and post-partum. I want to reduce PND, anxiety and trauma.
I’m here to hold the mothers during their pregnancy, birth and postpartum, because they deserve it, their baby deserves it and so does their family!
My name is Kylie Brettell, and I am a qualified doula who has trained at the Doula Training Academy. If you would like more information about my doula services, please contact me:
